recently we painted our master bedroom, bathroom, and closet which led us to rethink a few things – especially in the closet. we had a standing shoe rack on a blank wall in the closet, which was always about to fall apart [the shoe rack, not the wall] so we decided to do something more permanent with floating shelves.
it goes without saying, our closet is never really spick and span clean and we are always trying to make it more organized. the look of floating shelves is much cleaner than the previous shoe rack.
luckily, we had the best helper cat to open all the plastic for us 🙂
stephen seriously nailed it with the floating shelves, he didn’t have to redo any drilling at all and everything was level.
initially we were going to install the shelves to about six feet tall, but stephen had an idea to stop shorter and make the top shelf more stylish rather than all shoes. I figured adding a mirror above it would also make the space appear larger.
another tip I learned from my sister is to put pool noodles in boots to keep their shape. I hit up the dollar store and filled up my boots.
so what do you think? do you have any organizational closet tips to share?
