we always wait to put up our christmas decor, but this year was an exception. maybe it’s the fact that we’re living in our first home and it’s our first full size tree, but we were ready to start decorating the day before thanksgiving and so we did.
I found our tree on kingofchristmas.com and was very happy with how it turned out. I visited home depot and costco and preferred the tree that we ordered online, and it was a great price. a couple of months ago, the holiday pottery barn catalogs started arriving and I couldn’t help myself. there was a spread with a faux fur theme and I knew I wanted to create that furry, soft, neutral holiday look in my home.
I’d been going to homegoods a lot recently, but was not in the holiday spirit until the week of thanksgiving. luckily, when I stopped back in, they still had these lovely metallic trees and I bought a couple more to place throughout the house.
we still have to find a pet stocking for the cat, but you can see that she at least has a stocking holder!
since this is our first christmas tree, we really didn’t have many ornaments. I also didn’t want to spend a fortune buying them so this year, I diy’ed them with the help of my friend casey. I am so happy with the way they turned out – just a bag of vase filler from homegoods and a hot glue gun and voila!
I have a thing for scented pinecones and every year, they continue to smell up the living room with a subtle and warm scent. this year, I placed them as a centerpiece on the kitchen table.
last but not least, I couldn’t forget about mints for our guests! happy holidays, y’all!
