please tell me this has happened to someone else….
you go back to your old stomping grounds years later, only to find out that it’s no longer the cool place to be. by that, I mean, your restaurants and bars are tired [and dead] and you have no clue what to recommend instead. no offense to past memories [ahem, glory days], but when you’re trying to show someone around, it’s not ideal. “wait… how old am I?! how many years has it been?!” enter my local friend, elizabeth, who saved the day and rescued us to lower greenville avenue. so next time you visit dallas, direct your uber driver to lower greenville, just trust me.
truck yard = the best side of dallas I’ve ever seen. enter a new age of casual, I never thought I’d see the day.
oh and there’s a secret treehouse bar for the cool kids [those willing to hike a few stairs]…
next we headed to the upstairs patio balcony at h&g supply for nice views and frozen moscow mules.
and by then we were starving so we hit greenville avenue pizza. the line was short and the beers were cold. what more can you ask for?
