in honor of my trip to brazil last year, I’m sharing a recipe for the famed caipirinha. the caipirinha is a combination of muddled lime, sugar, and cachaca served on the rocks. it’s a great drink for a warm summer day or any day you find yourself dreaming of those beautiful brazilian beaches.
cut a lime into 8 wedges and place 4 wedges in a rocks glass for a single serving. add two teaspoons of white sugar, mash the lime and the sugar with a muddler (or a spoon) for 15 seconds. add crushed ice to fill the glass up to the rim. add two ounces of cachaca, stir thoroughly and garnish with lime wedge. enjoy!
